🔌 Vehicle Electrical Setup Guide

Powering Your New SCT Off Road Camper or Caravan the Right Way

To make the most of your new SCT Off Road Camper or Caravan, it’s essential that your tow vehicle is set up with the correct wiring and Anderson Plug connection to charge the caravan’s battery system while driving.

⚙️ Why Proper Vehicle Wiring Matters

SCT Off Road Campers come equipped with high-performance battery systems including:

  • 🔴 REDARC Manager 30, 50, 75 & 100

  • 🔵 EcoFlow 48V Charging Systems

  • 🟢 Enerdrive 40amp DC2DC Charger

These advanced chargers require more current than a standard Anderson plug and wiring setup can provide — which is why the right plug type and wiring size is crucial.

What Your Vehicle Needs

1. Grey 50A or 120A Anderson Plug (12V Charging)

🔌 Installed at the rear of your tow vehicle
🔋 Supplies charge from the vehicle alternator (via the Start Battery) to the caravan’s DC-DC charging system
🧲 Must be securely mounted and accessible near the tow hitch.

See the Table Below for recommended Cable & Anders Plug sizing.

MUST be Earthed correctly according to the Vehicle Specifications (note – an incorrect Earth can result in the Electronic Brake Controller not functioning correctly)

2. Correct Wiring Size & Fuse Protection

⚡ Heavy-duty twin core cable is required
🔒 Must be fused correctly at the vehicle battery (within 20cm of Starter Battery)
🛡️ Use quality automotive cable designed for high current and minimal voltage drop

📍Note: Undersized cable or poor-quality connections can damage your battery system or prevent charging entirely.

What our clients say...

Why choose us

Quality branded componentry

We’ve built our trailers from experience both travelling and extensive R&D of our products. By only using named brand components and accessories, we are building our Camper Trailers to last and provide trouble free travelling.

Quality Suspension

Signature Camper Trailers has worked very closely with brands like Toughdog, Lovells and Dobinson to ensure our trailers suspension is up to the task of combating the Australian outback and New Zealand off-road tracks. We have tweaked many of the parts in the swing arms, shocks, grease points, and more.

Built to Last

We noticed that many camper trailers currently available are not built to last. We started Signature Camper Trailers to buck that trend. We decided to offer a locally assembled great quality camper trailer product built for Australian and New Zealand’s tough conditions.
